The Ministry for Equal Opportunities of the Regione Piemonte and Expo 2000 are organising in Turin the International Fair of Rights and Equal Opportunities for All to celebrate the European Year of Equal Opportunities for All and to disseminate its values and principles.
Central Theme
Human and social rights, equal opportunities and contrasting all the forms of discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, religion or personal beliefs, age, ethnic origin or disability.
Objectives
-To compare and learn from contrasting approaches, policies and experiences of anti-discrimination.
-To allow the meeting of different grassroots organisations that work on the themes of social inclusion, equality of treatment and non-discrimination.
-To allow the creation of new networks and to strengthen those that already exist.
-To inform and make public opinion aware of the advantages that derive from a society which values diversity and offers the same opportunities to all without any form of discrimination.
Structure
The Fair will take place over three days of assemblies, meetings, thematic seminars and encounters with well-known public figures -role models in the struggle against discrimination- and exhibitions, all occasions for the exchange of ideas and experiences.
The Fair proposes itself as a " container" that will include events, seminars, laboratories, workshops, exhibitions and other initiatives coherent with the European Year proposed by the different organisations, both public and private, NGOs and other institutions.

Alongside the Fair, a large exhibition space will be set up and many cultural events tied to the Fair will be organised in collaboration with educational institutions and local councils of the Regione Piemonte.
Target Audience
- Public Opinion, with a specific focus on young people;
- Institutions and organisations which have as their aim the struggle against discrimination;
- Institutions and organisations that favour the practical application of the principles of equal opportunites for all (employers' and workers' organisations, operators in the field of communications and public relations, inistitutes of schooling and education, governmental bodies, etc).
